Clearing homes in Newbridge
Newbridge, Droichead Nua on the signs, grew up around a cavalry barracks on the Liffey in the 19th century, and the long Main Street still runs from the bridge past the old barracks site to the Whitewater Shopping Centre. The older housing is the terraces off Main Street and around the station. Almost everything else dates from the 1990s onward, when the M7 and the train to Heuston turned the town into a commuter base: Moorefield, Roseberry, Piercetown, Ballymany, Standhouse and the estates out the Kildare and Naas roads.
Those are three and four-bed semis and terraces with a driveway, a side gate and a shed, built for young families who have now been there twenty or thirty years. Apartments sit over the shops on Main Street and in blocks near Whitewater and the station, and many are rented.
The Curragh is on the edge of town, with the racecourse and the Curragh Camp, and Kildare Town and its outlet village are ten minutes down the road. Kilcullen and Milltown are close enough that we treat them as part of the same patch.

What we clear in Newbridge
- Full house clearances in Moorefield, Roseberry, Piercetown and the estates off the Kildare Road, before a sale or a new tenancy, including the attic, garage and shed.
- Apartments on Main Street and near Whitewater between tenants. Lifts, car parks and management companies are all accounted for in the quote; our apartment clearance page explains how.
- Storage units. Self-storage rented in the Newbridge area during a move or after a bereavement often needs emptying months later. See our storage unit clearance service.
- Bereavement clearances in the older terraces and the first-generation estates, at the family’s pace, with personal items set aside.
- Garages that have been used as a store since the day the house was bought. Our garage clearance guide sets out how to prepare one.
Access, parking and the practical bits
In the estates, the van is on the driveway or at the kerb and we carry through the side gate. Roads in Moorefield and Roseberry are wide; some of the courts in the newer phases are tighter, in which case we park at the entrance and carry a little further.
Main Street is pay parking and busy during the day, especially around Whitewater and on race days at the Curragh, so for town-centre flats we aim for a weekday morning and use rear access where it exists. Apartment blocks need a word with the management company about lifts and loading, which we handle before the day. The Newbridge Silverware visitor centre and the Whitewater car parks draw traffic on Saturdays, so weekday mornings are the easiest time for anything near the centre.
From Dublin it is the M50 and the M7 straight to junction 10 or 12, so Newbridge is a simple run for a loaded van in both directions.
Why people in Newbridge call us
The pattern here is the same as in the rest of the commuter belt: a parent’s house that has to be emptied for sale, a move where the garage and attic have become impossible, or a landlord with a flat to turn around. In each case the alternative is a skip on the driveway for a week and a lot of lifting you would rather not do. The price is set by volume, so a loft full of boxes or a packed shed can add a load; mention them when you send photos and the quote will cover everything.
A two-person crew with a box van loads everything in one visit, and because we hold a waste collection permit you know where it goes: items worth keeping in circulation go to donation or resale, recyclables are separated, and the rest goes to a licensed transfer station. Our post on what happens to items after a house clearance explains the sorting.
Newbridge sits in the middle of our Kildare coverage, so Naas, Kilcullen, Kildare Town and the Curragh are all on the same run, and on the Dublin side we come in through Tallaght and Lucan.
