Clearing homes and apartments in Dundrum
Dundrum village grew up around the old Main Street and the ruins of Dundrum Castle, and the Luas green line now runs through it with stops at Dundrum and Balally. The Town Centre brought a wave of apartment building to the village itself and to Wyckham on the Ballinteer side, so a good share of our work here is in blocks with lifts, bike stores and basement car parks.
Behind that, Dundrum is still a suburb of semi-detached family houses. Ballinteer, Taney and the roads towards Churchtown were built from the 1950s to the 1970s, and a lot of them are only now coming on the market as the original owners pass on or move to something smaller.
That gives us two kinds of job: the apartment clearance, which is about access, lifts and management companies, and the family-home clearance, which is about volume, attics and garages.

What we clear in Dundrum and Ballinteer
- Apartment clear-outs at Wyckham and in the blocks around the village, for owners selling, landlords between tenants and tenants moving on. Our apartment clearance page covers lifts, loading bays and what to tell the management company.
- Full house clearances of Ballinteer and Taney semis before a sale, including the attic, garage and shed.
- Bereavement clearances, handled quietly and at the pace the family sets. We are used to dealing with executors and with relatives who live abroad.
- Downsizing jobs, where we take whatever the removal company is not taking to the new home.
- Attics in 1960s and 70s houses, which usually hold a lifetime of boxes and a water tank to work around.
- Single large items: a three-seater sofa out of a third-floor apartment, a piano, a wardrobe that will not fit in the lift.
If it is a flat being handed back to a landlord and the carpets need doing afterwards, end-of-tenancy carpet cleaning is a separate job that we do not do ourselves.
Access, parking and the practical bits
Apartments first. The newer developments in Dundrum have service lifts or at least a goods-friendly lift, but most management companies want advance notice, a booked slot and sometimes protective covers in the lift.
We ask you for the block name and the management company’s number when you book, and we deal with them directly if you prefer. The van parks in the loading bay or set-down area, or in the basement if the height allows.
Houses are more straightforward. Ballinteer and Taney roads are wide, nearly every house has a driveway, and the garage door is often the easiest route out for bulky items. Parking is free and unrestricted on most residential roads, so we load from the kerb or the drive without any fuss.
The Town Centre and Dundrum bypass get heavy on Saturdays and in the run-up to Christmas, so for a job in the village itself we lean towards weekday mornings. We cover Dundrum six days a week.
Why people in Dundrum call us
A skip is rarely an option for a Dundrum apartment, and on a Ballinteer driveway it still leaves you to carry out every item yourself and to sort out whatever the skip company will not take. A two-person crew and a van does the carrying, separates what can be reused or recycled from what goes to a licensed transfer station, and leaves the rooms swept.
People here also want a company that understands management companies and lift bookings, because a clearance that is turned away at the door costs everyone a day. We check with the management company beforehand so there are no surprises on the day. For a sense of the full process, see how to prepare for a house clearance.
Dundrum sits between Churchtown, Rathfarnham and Sandyford, and we cover Ballinteer, Balally, Taney, Windy Arbour and Goatstown as well. If you are clearing a house in Dundrum and a storage unit in Sandyford on the same day, we can do both.
