Fast. Reliable. Responsible. House clearance across Dublin, six days a week.

Storage Unit Clearance Dublin

A storage unit is easy to fill and surprisingly hard to empty. The contents were put there "for now", the monthly fee keeps going out, and the thought of sorting it all is what stops people closing the account. We clear self-storage units across Dublin in a single visit, working to the facility's access hours, so you can hand back the key and stop paying.

How a storage unit clearance works

Send us the facility name, the unit size and a photo through the door. We give you a fixed price. On the agreed day the crew arrives during the facility’s access hours, loads the unit onto their trolleys and into the van in the loading bay, sorts as they go, and leaves the unit swept and empty. You get a photo of the empty unit and can close the account.

Why units fill up

Most storage units in Dublin were rented for a reason that has long passed: a house sale that fell through, a move abroad, a renovation, a relative’s belongings after a death, a business that closed. The reason went away, the direct debit did not. By the time people call us, they usually have no clear memory of what is inside beyond “furniture and boxes”. That is fine; we sort it on the day.

What we find in storage units

Sofas, beds and mattresses, wardrobes and chests of drawers, dining sets, boxes of books and kitchenware, children’s furniture and toys, office desks and chairs, filing cabinets and archive boxes, bikes, suitcases of clothes, and the occasional roll of carpet. Some of it is worth keeping or reselling; much of it was stored because it had nowhere to go.

Anything in good condition is set aside for reuse, donation or resale where we can arrange it. Recyclables are separated. The rest goes to a licensed waste transfer station under our Waste Collection Permit. Our guide to what happens to your items after a clearance covers the detail.

Working with the facility

Every self-storage facility has its own rules: access hours, loading bays with time limits, trolleys that must be returned, lifts that need booking, and an office that wants to know who is coming. We are used to all of them. Tell us the facility and the unit number and we will handle the logistics, including signing in if required.

Units for businesses

Companies that have closed, downsized or moved often leave a unit full of desks, chairs, archive boxes and old IT. We clear those the same way, and confidential paperwork can be bagged separately for shredding rather than loaded as general waste. See our office clearance page if the unit is part of a bigger wind-down.

Clearing a unit and a home together

A lot of storage unit clearances come with an apartment or a house to clear on the same day, often when someone is leaving Dublin for good. We can do both on one run, which saves you a second quote and a second morning off work.

“Ciprian and his team of two swiftly assessed the clearance based on provided photos, arrived punctually, and energetically tackled the task at hand. Despite my underestimation of the amount of junk to be cleared, they maintained the agreed price without any adjustments from their end.” — Anthony, City West

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be at the storage facility?

Usually not. Most facilities will let us in with your access code or a key and a note from you to the office. Some require you to sign us in. Tell us which facility it is and we will say what is needed.

Can you clear the unit if I am not sure what is in it?

Yes. Send us a photo from the doorway, even a bad one, and the unit size. We quote from that and set aside anything that looks personal or valuable as we go, so nothing important is loaded without you seeing it.

What about the things I want to keep?

Point them out or describe them and we separate them. If they need to go to your home or another address, we can bring them in the van on the way back if it is on the same run; otherwise we leave them at the front of the unit for you.

How is a storage unit clearance priced?

By volume, the same as any clearance. A small unit is often half a van load; a large unit packed to the ceiling may be two or more loads. Loading bays, trolleys and lifts at the facility make it quicker, and we factor all of that into a fixed price.

Can you clear a unit after a bereavement or for a relative abroad?

Yes, and we do it often. Families clearing a late parent's unit, or someone living overseas who has kept a Dublin unit for years, can hand the job over entirely. We send photos of the empty unit when it is done.

When should I give notice to the storage company?

Check the notice period in your agreement first, then book the clearance for a few days before the final date. That way the unit is empty and swept in time for the facility's check, and you are not paying for an extra month because the unit was still full on the last day.

Can you clear an outdoor container or a drive-up unit?

Yes. Container storage and drive-up units are often the quickest kind to clear, because the van can park right at the doors and there are no corridors or lifts to work around. Tell us if the container sits on gravel or a rough yard, so we know how close the van can get.

Do you clear storage units outside Dublin city?

Yes. Facilities across Dublin county, from the business parks along the M50 to the towns of Fingal, are routine for us, and so are units in Kildare and north Wicklow. Tell us the facility name and unit number and we will plan the run around its access hours.

I have lost the key to my padlock. Can you still clear the unit?

That has to be sorted with the facility first. They will want to confirm you are the account holder before a lock is cut, and there may be a charge for it. Once the unit is open and the office has noted it, we can clear it on the next day we have available.

The unit is not in my name. Who needs to authorise the clearance?

The facility will only give access with the account holder's permission or to someone they accept as acting for them, such as an executor or a person with written authority. Sort that out with the office first. Once they confirm the unit can be released to you, we take it from there.
