Fast. Reliable. Responsible. House clearance across Dublin, six days a week.

Shed Clearance and Removal Dublin

The garden shed is where things go when there is nowhere else for them, and after a few years it is full of rusted tools, half-empty paint tins, a broken mower and the bikes nobody rides. We clear sheds across Dublin, take the contents away the same day, and if you want the shed gone too, we can take it down and remove it.

What a shed clearance involves

You open the door, we do the rest. The crew empties the shed into keep, reuse, recycle and waste as they go, carries everything out through the side passage or the house to the van, and sweeps the floor. If the shed is coming down, it is dismantled last and loaded in sections.

What usually comes out of a Dublin shed

  • Lawnmowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers. Please empty any fuel first; petrol cans and their contents stay with you.
  • Hand tools, power tools, workbenches and shelving.
  • Bikes, scooters, prams and buggies, paddling pools and garden toys.
  • Garden furniture, umbrellas, barbecues and gas-fired patio heaters (cylinders stay with you).
  • Pots, compost bags, fencing panels, timber offcuts, roofing felt and old doors.
  • Paint tins, part-used and empty, and the odd tin of creosote that should go to the recycling centre instead.
  • The furniture that was “going to the shed for now” ten years ago.

Shed removal: taking the shed down

Timber sheds are unscrewed or cut into panels; metal sheds are unbolted; plastic sheds come apart by hand. We remove the roof first, then the walls, then the base if it is timber. A concrete base stays unless you ask for it to be broken out, which is a job for a skip or a builder’s waste service rather than a van.

If the roof is old corrugated sheeting that may contain asbestos, we will tell you and it has to go to a licensed contractor. We do not disturb it.

Shed, garage and attic in one visit

Most people who book a shed clearance have a garage or an attic in the same state. Doing them on one visit is cheaper than three trips because the crew and van are already there. Send photos of everything you want gone and we will quote the lot.

What happens to the contents

Working tools, bikes and usable garden furniture are kept aside for reuse or resale where we can arrange it. Metal goes for scrap recycling, timber and cardboard are separated, and the rest goes to a licensed waste transfer station under our Waste Collection Permit. See what happens to your items after a clearance for the longer version.

Before we arrive

Pull out anything you want to keep, take gas cylinders and chemicals out of the shed, and let us know about the side access or whether we will be coming through the house. That is all. Our garage clearance guide covers the sorting approach if you want to do a first pass yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Can you remove the shed itself, not just the contents?

Yes. Timber, metal and plastic garden sheds can be dismantled and taken away on the same visit. Tell us the size and what it is made of when you send photos. Concrete-block sheds and anything with an asbestos roof are a different job and we will say so.

Do you take paint, weedkiller, gas bottles and old chemicals?

A few part-used tins of paint are fine. Chemicals, pesticides, gas cylinders and large quantities of paint are hazardous waste and are not something we carry; a council recycling centre takes most chemicals and paint, and gas cylinders go back to the supplier. We will tell you what to set aside.

The shed is at the end of a long garden with side access only. Is that a problem?

No, that is the normal Dublin shed. We carry everything through the side passage or, if there is no side access, through the house with floor protection down. Mention which it is so we price the carry properly.

Can you clear the shed and the garden rubbish together?

Yes, and it makes sense to. Old garden furniture, broken pots, a rusted barbecue and a pile of bagged leaves can all go on the same load. For large volumes of green waste or soil, a skip or a dedicated garden waste service is the better option.

What does a shed clearance cost?

A typical shed is between half a van load and a full load, depending on how much is in it and whether the shed itself is coming down. Send a photo of the inside and one of the outside and we will give you a fixed price.

What if the shed is rotten, rusted or partly collapsed?

That is usually not a problem. A rotten timber shed comes apart with little effort, and a rusted metal shed can be cut or unbolted where the fixings have seized. If the roof has fallen in on the contents, we clear both together and take the panels away with everything else.

Can you take a trampoline, playhouse or greenhouse at the same time?

Trampolines, timber playhouses, plastic play sets and garden storage boxes can be taken apart and loaded on the same visit as the shed. Glass greenhouses are looked at case by case because of the glass, so send a photo of the frame and the panes and we will tell you what is possible.

We have just bought a house and the shed is full of the previous owner's things. Can you clear it?

Yes. It is common for a shed or garage to be left full after a sale closes. If there is any doubt about whether the previous owner means to collect something, check with your solicitor first; once you are happy it is yours to deal with, we take the lot.

How long does it take to take a shed down once it is empty?

Dismantling an ordinary garden shed is usually a small part of the visit compared with emptying it. A large timber workshop with a floor, electrics or a felt roof that has been patched over the years takes longer. If there is any wiring to the shed, have an electrician disconnect it before we come.

Is it a problem if the shed backs onto the neighbour's fence?

Usually not. We take the roof off first and work from your side of the garden wherever we can, so a shed tight against the boundary rarely needs anyone to go next door. If a panel can only be reached from the neighbour's garden, we will ask you to check with them before the day.
