Clearing homes in Lucan and Adamstown
The old village at the bottom of the hill, with the weir, the bridge and St Andrew’s church, still has its Georgian and Victorian houses and a handful of apartment blocks built in the last twenty years. Everything else is estates. Esker and Hillcrest date from the 1970s and 80s, Griffeen Valley, Foxborough and Finnstown from the 1990s and 2000s, and Adamstown is the planned new town that has been going up since the mid-2000s, with apartments and duplexes alongside the houses and its own train station.
That makes Lucan predictable in a good way. Driveways, side gates, pull-down attic ladders and integrated garages are the norm, so the main thing that decides the size of a job is how long the family has lived there, not how hard it is to get things out.
The N4 and the M50 at Liffey Valley make it a quick run from our Dublin base, and Leixlip, Celbridge and Clondalkin are all within a few minutes if your job spans more than one address.

What we clear in Lucan
- Three and four-bed semis being sold or let for the first time: furniture, carpets, white goods, the contents of the hot press and the attic.
- Garages and sheds across Esker, Hillcrest and Foxborough, where the garage has long since become a storeroom. We take tools, bikes, timber, old garden furniture and the boxes from the last move that were never opened; see our shed clearance page for what to expect.
- Apartments and duplexes in Adamstown and around the village, mostly between tenancies. Lifts, underground car parks and management companies are all part of the job, and we ask the right questions when quoting.
- Bereavement clearances in the older estates, where the original owners from the 1970s are now passing on homes to families who live elsewhere. We work at your pace and keep anything that looks personal to one side.
- Hoarded homes, discreetly. Lucan’s cul-de-sacs are close-knit, and we keep the van and the work as low-key as we can. Our hoarder clearance page explains the approach.
Finnstown and the roads towards Lucan Demesne also have a number of larger detached houses with double garages, and those are a full day’s work on their own.
Access, parking and the practical bits
Almost always the van is on your driveway or directly outside, and we carry through the side gate so the hallway stays clean. The exceptions are a few of the tighter cul-de-sacs and shared surfaces in Adamstown and Griffeen Valley, where we may park at the entrance and walk a little further. Tell us the road when you ask for a quote and we will know.
Apartment blocks in Adamstown have lift access and underground parking, but van height can be an issue in the car park, so we usually load from the street or a visitor space. If the management company needs notice or a copy of our insurance, we can provide it.
Attics are a quick job here because nearly every house has a pull-down ladder and a landing to stage boxes on. Sheds and garages come out through the side passage, never through the house.
Why people in Lucan call us
Lucan’s estates are full of families who have simply outgrown the storage, and of landlords turning around rentals near the village and in Adamstown. Both need a lot of stuff moved in one go, and a skip is often the wrong tool: it needs a permit if it sits on the road, it takes up the driveway for a week, and you still have to carry everything to it. We compare the two honestly in house clearance versus skip hire.
With us, two people and a van arrive at an agreed time, load everything you point at, sweep up and go. What can be reused is set aside for donation or resale, recyclables are separated, and the rest goes to a licensed transfer station under our waste collection permit. Price is driven by van loads, so a hot press, attic and garage all count; tell us about them up front and the quote will hold.
We are just across the Liffey from Castleknock and Blanchardstown, and we cover Kildare too, so Leixlip and Celbridge jobs are no trouble either.
