Clearing homes in Tallaght
Tallaght grew from a village into a town in little more than a generation. The estates that make up most of it were built from the 1970s onwards: Kilnamanagh and Springfield to the north, Old Bawn towards the Dodder, Aylesbury off the Old Bawn Road, and Jobstown, Fettercairn and Killinarden further west along the N81. The Square opened in 1990, the Luas red line arrived with its terminus beside the hospital, and apartment blocks followed around the village, Belgard and Tallaght Cross.
The result is a lot of family homes reaching the point where the original owners are downsizing, going into care or passing on, and a growing number of apartments turning over between tenants. Both kinds of job are routine for us, and the M50 puts Tallaght within easy reach of our Dublin base.
We come as a two-person crew with a box van, quote from your photos, and do the carrying, sorting and disposal. You only need to put aside what you want to keep.

What we clear in Tallaght
- Full house clearances of estate homes before a sale or renovation, with the garage, shed and attic included.
- Garages and sheds, which in Tallaght estates are nearly always used for storage rather than cars. Our garage clearance service covers them on their own or as part of the house.
- Apartment clear-outs around The Square, Belgard and Tallaght village, for landlords, letting agents and owners selling.
- Bereavement clearances, done room by room on whatever timetable suits the family. This bereavement clearance checklist is a useful starting point if you are not sure what has to happen first.
- Hoarded homes, cleared discreetly. See our hoarder clearance page.
- General junk removal: a broken sofa, white goods, a mattress, the bags left after a move. Our junk removal page covers the small jobs.
A serious amount of garden waste or rubble from a building job is skip-type waste, better handled by a skip or a builder’s waste service than by a clearance van.
Access, parking and the practical bits
Access in the Tallaght estates is as good as it gets. Nearly every house has a driveway or a front garden that was paved for parking years ago, so the van pulls in off the road and we load from the garage door or the front step. The roads in Kilnamanagh, Old Bawn and Springfield are wide enough for a box van, and the only thing that slows us is a car parked across a shared driveway.
Apartments are a different routine. The blocks near The Square and Belgard have lifts and management companies that want a booked slot, and some have a loading bay with limited hours. We ask for the block and the management contact when you book and make the arrangements.
Traffic around The Square, Tallaght University Hospital and the Belgard Road is heavy at school and commuting times, so we aim for mid-morning starts in the village and early starts further out. The N81 and M50 mean a second load the same day is no trouble.
Why people in Tallaght call us
A skip on a Tallaght driveway is a common sight, but it still leaves you to carry every item out of the house yourself, and the skip company will not take mattresses, fridges or the half-full paint tins in the garage. A two-person crew takes everything that can legally go, separates what can be reused or recycled from what goes to a licensed waste transfer station, and sweeps the rooms. Our guide to house clearance versus skip hire compares the two honestly.
Families clearing a parent’s house often have one or two siblings living away, and we are used to working with whoever is on site while keeping the others informed by WhatsApp with photos.
Tallaght borders Firhouse, Templeogue and Rathfarnham on the east side, with Crumlin and Walkinstown towards the city and Clondalkin to the north. We cover all of them from the same base, so a job that spans two addresses in south-west Dublin can be done in one day.
