Fast. Reliable. Responsible. House clearance across Dublin, six days a week.

Furniture Removal Dublin

Getting rid of one big piece of furniture in Dublin is harder than it should be. The council bulky collection has a waiting list, the recycling centre needs a van you do not have, and the sofa will not fit in the car. We collect unwanted furniture and appliances from inside your home, carry them out, and dispose of them responsibly, usually within a few days.

What we collect

Sofas, armchairs and three-piece suites. Beds, divans, bed frames, mattresses and bunk beds. Wardrobes, chests of drawers, dressing tables and bedside lockers. Dining tables and chairs, sideboards, display cabinets, bookcases and desks. Kitchen tables, worktops and units. Fridges, freezers, washing machines, dryers, cookers, dishwashers and microwaves. Televisions and TV units. Garden furniture, barbecues and parasols. Carpets, rugs and underlay.

If it is furniture or an appliance and it is in your home, office or garden, we can collect it. For a roomful or a whole house, our house clearance service is the better fit.

How it works

  1. Send a photo. One picture of the item or items, the area, and whether there are stairs or a lift.
  2. Get a price. A fixed price for the collection, carried out from inside the property and disposed of responsibly.
  3. Collection. A two-person crew arrives at the agreed time, carries the item out, and loads it. Doors, door frames and stairs are protected where needed.

Most collections are done within a few days of the quote being agreed. If a particular day matters, for a delivery of the new sofa for example, tell us and we will do our best to match it.

Why not the council bulky collection or the recycling centre?

Dublin’s local authorities do offer bulky waste collections, and they are worth checking. The drawbacks are the waiting list, the fixed collection days, and the requirement to get the item out to the kerb yourself. The civic amenity sites take furniture too, if you have a van and a free Saturday. We are the option for when you want it gone this week, from inside the house, without lifting it yourself.

Where the furniture goes

Good furniture is the easiest thing in a clearance to keep out of landfill, and we try. Solid wood pieces, working appliances and clean upholstered furniture are set aside for reuse, donation or resale where we can arrange it. Everything else is separated into timber, metal and WEEE recycling streams, and only what is left goes to a licensed waste transfer station under our Waste Collection Permit.

Old sofa, new sofa

A common call: the new suite is being delivered and the retailer will not take the old one away. Send us a photo of the old suite with the delivery date and we will collect before it arrives. The same goes for beds and mattresses, and for the old fridge when the new one is coming.

More than furniture?

If the furniture is going along with bags of rubbish, broken bits and general junk, our junk and rubbish removal service covers the mixed load. If it is office furniture, see office clearance.

Frequently asked questions

Will you take furniture from upstairs or from inside the house?

Yes. We collect from wherever the item is, upstairs, in the attic or at the back of the garage, and carry it out. You do not need to move it to the front door or the kerb first.

Can you collect a single item, like one sofa or one mattress?

Yes. Single items are a normal job for us. The price for one item reflects the van coming out, so if you have two or three things to go it is better value to send them all at once.

Do you take mattresses and beds?

Yes, including divan bases, mattresses of any size, bed frames and bunk beds. Mattresses go into the appropriate recycling stream rather than general waste where facilities allow.

What about fridges, washing machines and other appliances?

Yes. White goods and electricals are collected and sent into WEEE recycling. Fridges and freezers are handled correctly for their gas. Please empty and, where possible, defrost them beforehand.

Can furniture in good condition be reused rather than dumped?

That is our preference. Solid furniture, working appliances and clean upholstered pieces are kept aside for reuse, donation or resale where we can arrange it. We will tell you honestly if something is only fit for recycling.

What if the sofa will not fit back out through the door?

Most sofas that came in through a door can go out the same way once the legs and cushions are off and it is turned on end. Corner sofas and sectionals usually separate into parts. If a sofa was assembled in the room or came in through a window, tell us and we will plan for it from the photos.

Do you collect on Saturdays?

Yes. Our crews work Monday to Saturday, so a Saturday collection is possible if you are at work during the week. We do not collect on Sundays. Mention the day that suits when you send your photo and we will confirm what is available.

Can you take out a fitted kitchen or built-in wardrobes?

We take kitchen units, worktops and appliances once they have been removed or disconnected. Disconnecting plumbing, gas or wiring is a job for a qualified tradesperson, and we do not do it. Freestanding wardrobes are straightforward; built-in ones vary, so send a photo and we will tell you whether we can take them out.

Why can't my old sofa go to a charity shop?

Most charity shops in Ireland can only accept upholstered furniture that still has its fire-safety label attached, and many have little room for large pieces. An older sofa or armchair without the label usually cannot be resold, so it goes for recycling or disposal at a licensed facility instead. Solid wood furniture has a much better chance of reuse.

Can you move a piece of furniture to another address instead of disposing of it?

Our job is taking away what you no longer want rather than house moves. If one or two pieces need dropping to an address that fits in with the route on the day of a collection, ask and we will tell you whether it is possible. For a full move, a removals company is the right choice.
