Clearing homes in Killiney
The houses on Killiney Hill are among the largest we clear anywhere. Vico Road, Killiney Hill Road, Military Road and the lanes between them are lined with Victorian villas and later detached homes set well back from the road, with gate lodges, double garages, basements, studies and outbuildings. Many have been in the same hands for decades, and when they come up for sale the clearance is a serious undertaking.
Killiney village itself is small, a cluster of shops and a church near the hill, and the DART station sits at the bottom by the beach. Head inland or south and the ground flattens into Ballybrack and Loughlinstown, where the estates were built in the 1970s and 1980s: three and four-bedroom semi-ds with a garage, a front drive and a back garden, now reaching the point where the original owners are downsizing or passing on.
House clearance in Killiney therefore means two very different jobs. The hill houses are about volume, distance and steps; the estate houses are about doing a thorough job quickly so the house can go on the market.

What we clear in Killiney
- Large houses on the hill, cleared floor by floor over several days, including garages, basements and garden rooms. Our house clearance page explains how a big job is planned.
- Garages and outbuildings, which in Killiney are often bigger than a flat and hold decades of tools, sports gear, timber and boxes. See garage clearance.
- Semi-ds in Ballybrack and Loughlinstown, cleared for sale, after a death or when a parent moves into care.
- Attics in both kinds of house. A 1970s semi-d attic reached by a hatch is one job; a Victorian roof space with a proper stairs is another, and we handle both.
- Furniture and white goods that a removal company will not take, from a piano to a chest freezer.
The gardens on the hill are big, and if there is a season’s worth of cuttings, old fencing or a collapsed greenhouse to go as well, that is a separate job for a garden waste clearance service.
Access, parking and the practical bits
Parking is not the issue on the hill; distance is. Driveways on Vico Road and Killiney Hill Road can be long, steep and gravelled, and the roads themselves are narrow with blind bends, so we reverse the van in where we can and carry the rest. Some houses are terraced into the slope, which means steps between the front door and the drive.
Military Road is steep enough that we pick our loading point carefully and chock the van. In Ballybrack and Loughlinstown it is the opposite: a flat driveway, a side gate to the garden and a garage we can open straight onto the van.
Whatever the house, you do not need to sort or bag anything first. Set aside what you are keeping, take paint, solvents, oils, chemicals, fuel and gas cylinders from the garage to a civic amenity site or hazardous waste collection, because we do not collect them, and leave the lifting to us.
Why people in Killiney call us
Executors, estate agents and families living abroad make up a lot of our Killiney work, because the big houses are often sold by the next generation rather than lived in. They want a crew that will take a multi-day job seriously, keep them informed with photos, and set aside anything that might be a keepsake or have value rather than loading it blind.
In the estates the calls are more often from a son or daughter clearing the family home before a sale, who wants it done in a day without fuss.
We are fully insured, we hold Waste Collection Permit NWCPO-25-13287-01, and we are based in Dublin. Usable items are set aside for reuse or donation, recyclables are separated and only genuine waste goes to a licensed transfer station. Our house clearance cost guide explains what drives the price of a big job, which for Killiney usually means volume and access.
Killiney runs into Dalkey along Vico Road, Dún Laoghaire through Glenageary and Bray down the coast, and we cover all of them.
