Clearing homes in Clonskeagh
Clonskeagh takes its shape from two things: the Dodder, which runs along its northern edge from Milltown down to Donnybrook, and UCD, whose Belfield campus backs onto Roebuck Road. In between are the family houses. Clonskeagh Road, Roebuck Road, Vergemount, Bird Avenue and the Ardilea and Roebuck Downs estates were built mainly between the 1950s and 1970s, as detached and semi-detached homes with driveways, garages and good-sized gardens.
Nearer the river and along Clonskeagh Road there are more recent apartment schemes, and around Beech Hill and Richview there are offices and newer blocks on ground where mills and factories once stood beside the Dodder. The university brings a third type of home: houses and flats let to students and staff, which change hands every year.
Clearances in Clonskeagh therefore range from the gentle, long family home being sold after fifty years, to the brisk student house that needs to be empty and swept before September.

What we clear in Clonskeagh
- Family houses on Roebuck Road, Clonskeagh Road, Bird Avenue and the estates off them, from the attic to the garage. Our house clearance page shows how a full job is planned.
- Student lets and shared houses near UCD, cleared between academic years for landlords and agents: furniture, mattresses, bagged rubbish and whatever was left in the shed.
- Apartments in the schemes along Clonskeagh Road and around Beech Hill, with access arranged through the management company. The apartment clearance service page has the detail.
- Garages and side passages, which in this housing stock are where a lifetime of tools, timber and sports gear ends up. Our garage clearance service covers them.
- Bereavement clearances, worked at the pace the family sets.
Where a rented house is being handed back with the carpets in a poor state, end-of-tenancy carpet cleaning is a separate service from ours; we concentrate on getting the contents out.
Access, parking and the practical bits
Most houses in Clonskeagh have a driveway, which makes the van’s life easy: we reverse in, open the back and load from the hall door. The exceptions are the terraced houses nearer Milltown and some roads where the driveway is already full of the family’s cars, in which case we park on the road and carry a few metres further.
Clonskeagh Road is busy at school and university hours and has bus stops along it, so for a house directly on the road we aim to arrive mid-morning once the traffic has thinned. Roebuck Road is quieter. The apartment schemes have barriers and set-down areas, and most managing agents are happy once they know the date and the registration of the van.
Garages here are often detached or set back along a side passage, and gardens can be long. Neither changes the quote much; the volume does. If you want anything kept, put it to one side or tell us before we start, and leave the rest to us.
Why people in Clonskeagh call us
The two groups who call most are families selling a parent’s house, and landlords around UCD with a house or flat to turn around between tenants. The first wants care and no pressure; the second wants a fixed quote and a date they can give the next tenants. We do both, and we do not treat either as routine.
We operate under Waste Collection Permit NWCPO-25-13287-01, we are fully insured, and we are Dublin-based, so Clonskeagh is a short drive for us through Goatstown and Roebuck. Anything in reusable condition is separated for reuse or donation, recyclables are kept apart and the balance goes to a licensed waste transfer station. If you are curious about where things end up, we wrote up what happens to items after a house clearance.
Clonskeagh borders Milltown and Donnybrook along the river, with Roebuck running up to Mount Merrion and Dundrum beyond, and we cover all of them on the same run.
